MFC Foundation would like to thank everyone who played a part, large or small, in helping us reach a target well beyond our most optimistic expectations last week.
Last year, Roary’s Big Week raised around £6,000, this year we hoped to better that and reach £8,000.
With money still to come in, we have reached £17,688!
The Durata-sponsored bike ride from Hull City’s MKM Stadium to the Riverside raised £6,700; £4,700 came from the Business 5-a-side tournament organised by Middlesbrough College and £3,600 from an auction provided free of charge by Exceed ahead of Boro’s thumping win over Norwich.
The majority of the remainder came from individuals, people kind enough to put coins in buckets and donate in other ways in a climate where there isn’t that much spare money at the end of the week. A large slice, £1,500, coming from fan collections during Roary’s tour of Teesside one rather wet Friday and collections on two matchdays.
MFC Foundation’s Business Development Manager Paul Shepherd commented: “It shows people care, they appreciate what we try to do. We’re humbled by that and thank everyone for their support.”
