EFL Traineeships

Our employability students take part in a sporting drill with Middlesbrough FC defender Daniel Ayala

In partnerships with the English Football League Trust (EFL Trust), MFC Foundation have launched a traineeship scheme for people not currently in employment, education or training.

Based at our Herlingshaw Centre in South Bank, the programme will be delivered by qualified Foundation staff, with work experience opportunities coming at high profile and prominent organisations around Teesside.

OUR TRAINEESHIPS PROVIDE:

  • Free training in employment skills including; creating your CV, seeking employment opportunities and interview skills
  • 100 hours+ of high quality work experience in roles such as; business administration, coaching, hospitality, grounds maintenance, match day, retail and more
  • Level 2 Functional Skills Maths & English (if required)
  • Complete Sports Leaders Level 2 or 3 Qualification (Level 3 worth 16 UCAS points)

All of this experience will give you a valuable insight into working in sport and leisure. If you impress in your traineeship, there is a chance of a permanent position.

After successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate and a letter of reference as a minimum, to support future job applications.

Stepping Up: Transition Questions Answered

We are delighted to share with you a transitional support booklet which has been designed by our dedicated transition team via the Stepping Up project.

The booklet will help students explore any anxieties, queries or concerns they have regarding their secondary school transition, as well as support them in developing a structured toolkit of strategies to help with this.

This is available for all schools and is free of charge. To sign up and retrieve your pack, complete with school/trust logo, please contact our Stepping Up Coordinator Steven Bell at steven.bell@mfcfoundation.co.uk

That’s also the e-mail to use for further information on the programme.

But before you do that, please follow the link below to watch a video with a young girl called Lola.

Transitioning from primary to secondary school can be a daunting experience, with many questions asked as youngsters take what can be a scary trip into the unknown. These may be Lola’s questions, they could just as easily be yours. They are all answered answered by our Stepping Up coaches.

MFC Foundation are the pioneers of the Stepping Up Transition project.
