Congratulations to Whinney Banks Primary who, representing Middlesbrough, have won the Regional Finals of the Primary Stars U11s National Girls Cup.
Played at Sunderland’s Foundation of Light on Friday February 9th, Newcastle, Carlisle and Hartlepool, together with Sunderland and ourselves, made up a five-team tournament for the right to represent the North in the National Finals.
After beating Carlisle in the semi-finals, we drew with Hartlepool 1-1 in the final, going on to win a tight penalty shoot-out.
This was the first of 10 regional finals, the winners of the other nine will join us in the National Finals in May (venue to be confirmed).
