WE were blessed with good weather and an enthusiastic crowd for our free summer community event at the Herlingshaw.
Over 70 families and just short of 200 people enjoyed outdoor activities which included two small fairground rides, hook a duck, a magic show and a live band, while indoor attractions included a range of large inflatables, table tennis, snakes and ladders with an inflatable dice on a floormat, football, face painting and volleyball with probably the largest ball seen on a court.
Face painting and visits from Roary, Woody from Toy Story, and Disney characters such as Mickey and Mini Mouse and Ariel from the Little Mermaid kept everyone amused, as did the arts and craft room
Thank you to Oakley’s Castles, Browns Leisure, magician Tom Rolfe. the Tom Atkinson Trio and Cute Creations Face Painting for everything did and for MegaStarz for helping create a magical atmosphere with their enthusiasm, music and special guests.
Our staff came in for a lot of praise for their organisation, commitment and interaction with everyone.
It was a recipe for a great day which we hope to repeat sometime close to Christmas.
