SABIC UK To Sponsor Our First Ever Memory Walk

WE’RE delighted to announce that SABIC UK are to sponsor our first ever Memory Walk which will take place on Sunday July 23rd.

The walk, starting and finishing at the Riverside Stadium, will raise funds to help MFC Foundation in their award-winning work with those living with dementia in the Teesside area.

It will bring together those who have been affected by dementia, those who want to walk to remember a loved one, and people looking to raise money for their chosen Teesside charity. Once the registration fee has been paid, participants are free to raise funds for whichever charity they choose.

Outlining why SABIC UK were keen to be involved, Claire Wordsworth, Senior Communications Business Partner, said: “SABIC have always been impressed with the work undertaken by MFC Foundation, getting right to the heart of our local communities to tackle issues that affect them most.

“That is why we are proud to sponsor the inaugural Memory Walk to help support the Foundation’s award-winning dementia programme.  We’ll also be encouraging our employees and their families to join in the walk to help raise awareness and more funds for this well-deserving project.”

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer and there is currently no cure. Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with dementia. By taking part in Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation’s Memory Walk you would be helping MFC Foundation and Middlesbrough FC make life better for those people living with dementia across Teesside, right now.

Paul Shepherd, Business Development Manager for Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation said: “Our Memory Walk is for everyone – no matter your age or level of activity. I would call on everybody from across Teesside to put their best foot forward and support the vital work we continue to deliver to those people living with dementia.

“We’d also love to support other good causes across Teesside, if your charity would like to secure some places please get in touch and become a part of the event.”
