Education Employment And Training Project Opportunities Double

PARTICIPATION in our education, employment and training projects almost doubled in a three-year period according to a detailed report published by the EFL.

Covering a period between 2019 and 2022, the report, published earlier this year but of added significance at this time of the Academic year, found that just short of 2,800 participants attended projects designed to prepare them for work or further education.

While a large proportion of the figures referred to our work with our PL Primary Stars project across 30 different primary schools in the region, significant numbers were reported with regard to provision for older students.

The report found that the percentage of Year 11 pupils achieving 5 GCSEs including English and Maths education were higher on Teesside than the regional average for the North East.

It went on to highlight provision from programmes for those aged 16 and over, work which has continued this calendar year with many more initiatives to come. Especially at this time of year as exams come to an end and the eager, if nervous, wait for results and the options they bring begins.

Commencing on July 17th is a programme we run in conjunction with the Prince’s Trust called Get Started in Football. For those aged 16-25 this is a free course for those interested in developing coaching and leadership skills.

In association with the University of South Wales, a Sports Coaching and Development degree commences on August 29th, while on September 11th our latest Bright Lights project gets underway.

Bright Lights is a retail and hospitality course funded by British Land in partnership with us. It takes place at Teesside Park and focusses on employability skills and work placements.

Maybe you would like a career in Health and Social Care. We offer courses, 1-2-1, small group, face to face and online support.
