BORO’s Academy players Bryant Bilongo and George Gitau were welcome guests on two of our holiday courses.
The lads mixed with participants from the our Borobility programme, set up for those with physical and mental disabilities of various degrees, as well as a well-attended Girls Only holiday course.
Not content to watch from the sidelines, Bryant and George took part in some of the games, coaching and encouraging, constantly taking time to talk with participants and staying behind to present medals, sign autographs and talk with Foundation staff who run the programmes.
“It was very humbling,” says Bryant. “It makes you realise how lucky you are, especially when you are playing against a lad who has one leg and a prosthetic limb!”
George added: “We have loved being involved, it’s great to be able to give something back. There were so many smiling faces and happy people and it was so competitive!”
