Boro Boss Backs Community Captain

We’re delighted to announce that Sean Mackin has been named MFC Foundation’s Community Captain as part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game Campaign.

Chosen because of his commitment to programmes at the Herlingshaw facility, where many Premier League backed projects such as PL Kicks and PL Inspires are facilitated, as well as the award-winning Roary’s Academy programme for 2-6-year-olds, Sean was honoured for his work with a trip to Boro’s Rockliffe Park training ground.

Michael Carrick kindly took time out of his busy schedule to present Sean with a framed certificate, pennant, and captain’s armband.

“Well done and congratulations,” said Boro’s head coach to a delighted recipient.

“I didn’t even know I had been nominated,” said Sean, who recently passed the 10-year service mark with the Foundation. “This is a complete surprise and I’m absolutely delighted. I’m just part of a team and it’s nice that our work is recognised.

“We’re in a privileged position to able to help our communities.”
