As part of Roary’s Big Week in April, staff and volunteers from Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation, and the Hull City equivalent, the Tigers Trust will cycle 100 miles from Hull to Middlesbrough ahead of the match between the two teams.  MFC Foundation are appealing for volunteer riders to raise essential funds to support their work.

Both foundations provide much needed support in their local communities through the delivery of inspiring sport, education, health and inclusion projects and this bike ride will raise vital funds for their work.

Roary’s Big Week will focus on MFC Foundation’s work within the local community highlighting the many projects they continue to deliver to the marginalised across Teesside.

Paul Murphy, Community Fundraising Coordinator for MFC Foundation said “Middlesbrough play Hull on Wednesday 19th April falling right in the middle of Roary’s Big Week so we wanted to do something that linked both clubs but at the same time raise much needed funds and awareness for the Foundations.” He continued “We teamed up with colleagues from Tigers Trust in Hull and ullHull decided to cycle from Club to Club which is approximately 100 miles and finish the ride prior to kick off on the Wednesday.”

Roary’s Big Bike Ride will start on 19th April at 8.00am finishing the same day prior to the 20.00pm KO of Middlesbrough FC v Hull City at the Riverside Stadium.

Paul Shepherd, Business Development Manager at MFC Foundation said: “Paul and the members of both Foundations have committed to a huge challenge and we hope the ride will make a big difference.  We are already receiving interest from riders for both charities and cannot thank them enough for getting involved.” He continued “We know all their efforts will not only raise much needed funds for our work in the community, but will also help in spreading the word about the impact Football Foundations have in their local areas.”
