Our Team Talk programme provides a space for men across Teesside to connect and support one another
With the region facing high levels of social isolation, unemployment, and poor mental health outcomes, many men struggle in silence.
Team Talk tackles this need by offering free, welcoming sessions where men can talk, build confidence, and develop healthier coping strategies. The programme strengthens wellbeing, reduces loneliness, and helps participants feel part of a community. Team Talk empowers local men to improve their mental health and lead more positive, resilient lives.
The main themes of the 14-week programme are:
- Resilience - Helping men understand how to bounce back from setbacks, manage pressure, and develop practical coping strategies that strengthen their ability to handle life’s challenges.
- Motivation - Exploring what drives each participant, identifying personal values, and building sustainable motivation that supports positive change and long-term wellbeing.
- Goal Setting - Supporting men to set realistic, achievable goals and break them into manageable steps, giving them a sense of direction and progress throughout the programme.
- Support Networks - Encouraging participants to recognise, build, and use healthy support systems—both within the group and in their wider lives- to reduce isolation and improve mental wellbeing.
Weekly Think with your Feet social football sessions are also held every Friday 1-3pm at the Herlingshaw Centre (TS6 9AE).
