The Herlingshaw Centre was a hub of excitement last week as primary school children from across the region battled it out for the Wilf Mannion Cup.
Over 600 participants, consisting of 64 teams from 32 schools, made for quite the spectacle as champions Galley Hill successfully defended their 2024 crown, getting the better of Captain Cook in a hotly-contested final.
It was particularly pleasing to see the expansion of the girls’ tournament, with 24 teams competing across three divisions on the 3G pitches. After topping Group A, Pallister Park claimed the trophy with a tremendous record of six wins and one draw from seven matches.
Despite the eclectic weather conditions, all matches were played in a fair and competitive manner. We wish to issue our heartfelt thanks to all those who made it a truly memorable event.
