The usual front-of-shirt sponsor 32RED, owned by parent company FDJ United, was vacated for one game only to allow the Foundation badge to take pride of place.
The kind gesture was part of a wider campaign to raise the profile of Middlesbrough FC Foundation, who continue to raise aspirations and improve life chances as the independent charity of Middlesbrough FC.
The Foundation’s presence could hardly be missed on and off the field.
Off the pitch, the players donned Foundation warm-up t-shirts and participants from our education programme combined with those involved with Premier League Kicks for a bolstered flag parade, which also included representation from the junior teams from Gusborough, Skelton and TIBS.
At half-time, there was a mini showcase of our work in action across small-sided games and a penalty shootout involving our Borobility group.
While on the field, with Boro Women enjoying a 2-1 advantage, the game was put to bed by someone who knows more than most the value of the Foundation.
Armani Maxwell was a regular at our Premier League Kicks provision as a youngster, even enjoying a trip to Stamford Bridge for a competition as part of the programme.
Boro’s no.9 is one of many that programmes like Premier League Kicks have benefited.
By placing a bid on a match-worn shirt, you’re not just buying Boro memorabilia; you’re actively changing lives. Thank you.
