The day was delivered through a strong partnership between Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation and Outwood Academies Trust, with invaluable support from delivery partners including Lynas Engineering, Cumbria Waste, Middlesbrough Council, LivedXP, CreateHype, and Anthony Hutton. Together, they created an inspiring experience designed to help students explore leadership, teamwork, and positive role models.
Young people from Outwood Acklam, Ormesby, Riverside, and Bydales took part in a role model workshop, sharing their thoughts on what makes a great role model, what doesn’t, and who inspires them most. Interestingly, many students named Billie Eilish as a key influence, showing how modern voices are shaping today’s youth perspectives. As well as workshops in STEM, mathematics, knife crime and the environment.
The event also celebrated achievement and creativity, with students from Premier League Inspires school Outwood Ormesby taking centre stage as their self-produced podcast project won an award, earning them a place in the next round at Elland Road.
The Out There project continues to open doors for young people across the Tees Valley, providing real-world opportunities.
