MFC Foundation would like to issue a heartfelt “thank-you” to everyone who made our annual dinner a success.
Sponsored for the fourth year running by Vistech, the dinner, held at the Riverside Stadium, once more celebrated the people of Teesside and the work the Foundation does in inspiring hope and confidence and reaching the corners of our communities who need a helping hand.
Scores of businesses and individuals enjoyed a memorable, in places emotional, evening, where laughter and tears mixed freely.
From the meet and greet with Roary at a red carpet entrance and the excellent vocals of Helen Swain, through to Mike McGrother and his Infant Hercules choir at the start, the scene was set.
It wasn’t an awards night, but there were two handed out. Our Dementia provision was named as Programme of the Year, just holding off Active Through Football and a programme run in conjunction with the University of South Wales. Participant of the Year was Dean Munga, who with the help of our MatchFIT sessions has turned his life around, not just by losing four stones in weight.
An emotional and inspiring interview with the Foundation’s deputy head Craig McManus documented a personal journey which saw him pull back from the abyss, to dedicating his life to helping others, while two auctions, one silent through Exceed, another live with Alan Geddes added significant funds to a pot which had been swelled through donations on the night and a table envelope draw.
The after party continued into the early hours with local band Flat Back 4 and a DJ set from Neil Dooley.
A memorable event and again thank you to everyone who played a part, large or small. Your kindness will help change the lives of people who you might never meet, but ones who will be truly grateful.
