After tucking into pizza kindly donated by Dominos, participants were treated to a 45-minute set by local singer Joanna Andrews, before a visit from a very lively Roary, who, after entertaining the room with some new moves, joined Nat and Scott from Dominos in handing out selection boxes.
Nat, from the executive office of Mike Racz, explained just why Dominos were keen to support the event. “Domino’s is committed to supporting Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation because their work reflects everything we believe in - connection, inclusion and community spirit.
“Volunteering at the dementia dance and providing pizzas was a privilege for our team. We’re proud to stand beside an organisation that makes such a real difference locally.”
The monthly dementia dances, normally held in the Legends Lounge, are always special affairs. Add some tinsel and a dash of Christmas sparkle and you’re left with a warm feeling inside.
It’s for the carers as much as it is for those living with dementia. Respite from sometimes feeling it’s them against the world. There’s support, chatter, singing, dancing and perhaps above all else, smiles.
A huge thank you to Nat, Scott and Sam from Pearl Safety for donating their time to help volunteer at the dance.
The compliments of the season to you all.
