Foundation Proud To Deliver At North East Celebration Event

We were honoured to present a unique Premier League Primary Stars lesson as the North East’s Club Community Organisations (CCOs) came together to celebrate the best of the region.

Hosted at Newcastle United Foundation’s NUCASTLE facility, CCOs from Sunderland, Newcastle and Hartlepool joined ourselves for the showcase with over 100 participants taking part in various Premier League-funded sessions.

MFC Foundation were delighted to highlight our Primary Stars programme. Staff leads Natalie Guy and Beth Dobson delivered a bespoke session to Year 3 pupils from St. Augustine’s Primary School before a selection of the cohort were interviewed by the Premier League.

On a day packed with fun, laughter and football, Health and Wellbeing Officer Hassan Mtambo gave an inspiring talk on his pathway to the Foundation and how, after moving to Middlesbrough from overseas when he was 12, his initial participation eventually led to a full-time career.

Acting Head of Foundation Craig McManus said: “It was truly inspiring to join together with the North East’s CCOs to hear stories of resilience and strength.

“Premier League-funded programmes have helped over 150,000 people in our region and it’s only right that we celebrate the achievements of those participants.

“I’d like to thank Newcastle United Foundation for hosting a spectacular event and I’m immensely proud of our staff for the delivery of our Primary Stars programme.”
