Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced and motivated individuals to join the Board of Trustees of Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (the Foundation) - the independent charity of Middlesbrough FC.

Guided by our Together Strategy, we work collaboratively with communities to reduce inequalities, widen opportunity and improve quality of life across Teesside. Our work is delivered through three core themes:

  • Education & Employability
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Social Inclusion

We deliver high-impact programmes that support people to learn, develop skills, improve their health and feel more connected to where they live.

About the Role
As a Trustee, you will help ensure that:

  • The Foundation’s vision, mission and strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Strong governance, accountability and financial sustainability are maintained.
  • Our work aligns with community need and supports our long-term social impact.
  • Our culture and values - particularly around equity, inclusion and collaboration - are upheld.

Who We’re Looking For
We are particularly seeking individuals with specialist skillsets in:

1.    Governance Expertise

  • Charity governance and regulatory requirements
  • Risk management and oversight
  • Board-level decision-making
  • Strengthening systems, policies and accountability structures
  • Ensuring transparency, compliance and high standards of practice

2.    Culture & People Leadership in the Charity Sector

  • Organisational culture development
  • People management, workforce development or volunteer leadership
  • Creating inclusive, values-driven environments
  • Supporting staff wellbeing and organisational learning
  • Leading people-centred change in mission-driven organisations

Additional experience in education, employability, health, youth work or senior leadership across sectors is also welcomed.
