The Legends Lounge was a sea of smiles to kickstart the weekend as we hosted Fizz Friday: The Game Show.
Kindly sponsored by Nanny Bears Day Care Centre, the summer spectacular is one of the Foundation’s high-profile annual events, with businesses from across Teesside coming together to support our valuable community work.
A pushed-back 6.30pm start added a classier feel to this year’s instalment, though the laughs and camaraderie were still as ever-present across the many TV game shows played throughout the evening.
Hosted by the Foundation’s Neil Dooley and Jenny Williams, a mix of current and classic on-stage programmes made for a fun-filled evening, with mini-game shows also located around the room to carry on the TV theme.
Rolling it back to the 1980s, the night began with a whole room game of Play Your Cards Right before throwing it forward to present day to play ITV’s hit show The 1% Club. Ex-Boro star David Wheater then joined the party for Are You Smarter Than A 12-Year-Old, the centre-half playing for pride against Boro-fan Blake, where the 12-year-old could win a whole range of MFC goodies.
A prolonged ‘ad break’ allowed attendees to taste the sublime TV dinner buffet provided by our amazing catering and hospitality staff, which also provided an opportunity to play mini-game shows such as Bullseye, The Cube and Dael or No Dael – a twist on the Channel 4 show based on Boro ace Dael Fry.
The on-stage act continued with appearances from Shooting Stars’ Dove From Above before the grand finale of Win The Ads from Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway saw one lucky individual win over £2,500 worth of prizes.
The evening was concluded by live singer George Williamson, a staple of Fizz Friday’s past, who had the crowd on their feet and partying into the night.
A huge thank you to all who made the evening so special. Your generosity and kind-heartedness will help us continue our vital work across the Tees Valley.
