Boro’s game against Derby was their Unite For Access game.
If you’ve not heard of it before, then you have now and hopefully you’ll remember what it’s all about.
Unite For Access Day is the highlight of an annual campaign run nationally by Level Playing Field, championing as it does accessibility, inclusion and equality for disabled sports fans, ensuring everyone can share in the joy of live sport.
The club and foundation are fully supportive of the initiative and hopefully we demonstrated that.
Not every disability is visual and before the game the pitchside flag wave parade consisted of several members from South Park Rangers Autism Centre in Berwick Hills and Pallister-based Clover Group, together with participants from our Borobility group.
As the players emerged from the tunnel to take to the pitch they were accompanied by four wheelchair users, while the half-time penalty shoot-out was a demonstration from our Borobility group.
A humbling day for many and a roaring success for the participants.
