Starting at 10am in Loftus, the 30 Miles For 30 Years event saw Friends of the Foundation complete a 30-mile relay race across the Tees Valley – using a miniature stuffed Roary as the baton.
The route ran from one new Foundation development site in Loftus to another at the Southlands Centre, taking in East Cleveland, the Riverside Stadium, both Middlesbrough and Stockton high streets and the famous River Tees.
Having built the framework for our new Loftus headquarters, Cleveland Sitesafe kickstarted the run in East Cleveland with Land of Iron, Senses Wellbeing Centre, Grey-Smith Legal, Cygnet Law, Nanny Bears Day Care Centre, Vehicle Smart and Redcar Athletic FC completing the opening 10 legs over in East Cleveland.
Therapist Nick Shallow picked up the baton as we headed into town with help from Pearl Safety, Teesside LGV, Lynas Engineers, Tekbuild, Middlesbrough FC – including former Boro stars David Wheater and Tony McMahon.
The final section was ran by Tees Business, Just Williams, Gallagher Insurance, Next Level Security Group, Muckle LLP, Gardiner Electrical Products, Perco Foods and Cumbria Waste before Foundation participant Betty Sheeky, honoured with the Alan Peacock Inspiration Award at our Annual Dinner, completed the last mile of the mammoth relay race.
Your support of the Foundation is incredibly uplifting, and we can’t thank you enough for your willingness to go above and beyond.
