Cyrus Christie Drops In On Boro Holiday Course

Middlesbrough and Republic of Ireland international defender Cyrus Christie visited the Herlingshaw Centre in August to join one of our popular football holiday courses.

The right-back signed autographs and took photos with the excited group, before holding a Q&A and shooting challenge where the children had to kick the ball through the hole. Christie also presented the young people with their certificates and medals for completing the course.

Christie told mfc.co.uk “You walk in and you can see that children are delighted to be here with all of their smiles. It’s a great thing for them to come down and do, especially when they’ve not got much to do at home and it keeps them out of trouble too.

“I’ve been at some clubs, and you walk in and see that none of them really support their local team. Everyone seems to support Middlesbrough here, and when you walk in they know who you are. They love the club and it’s great to see – it bodes well for the future.”

The three-day summer holiday course, led by MFC Foundation’s qualified team of coaches, included plenty of games and activities that went down a treat with the children.

The courses cost, which range from two to three days, cost £12 per day, and typically run from 9am to 3.30pm.

Aimed at 5 to 14-year-olds, our staff work to improve football skills through exciting drills and challenges.

The holiday courses are held in each school holiday at our Herlingshaw Centre facility in South Bank. Keep an eye on our website and social media for booking information, or visit www.officialsoccerschools.co.uk/middlesbroughfc.
