#iwill Project

The National Lottery and Department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport are each investing £20 million seed funding over four years to create the #iwill fund. The Virgin Money Foundation is acting as a match funder and is awarding grants on behalf of the #iwill fund.

#iwill is a UK-wide campaign aiming to get 6 out of 10 young people involved in social action by 2020.

Social action involves activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering, all of which enable participants to make a positive difference to their communities. Whilst also equipping young people with the skills and knowledge which future employers will look for.

MFC Foundation, are thrilled to be a partner organisation who are being funded by the Virgin Money Foundation, to deliver this fantastic programme, to young people in primary and secondary schools across the Tees Valley.

We are looking for innovative and creative individuals to help facilitate young people’s experiences of the programme. You will help deliver the programme in a classroom environment to Year 6 and Year 9 students in Primary and Secondary schools across the Tees Valley area. The programme will give young people the knowledge, skills and understanding, to address important social constructs, and allow them to explore, create and delivery exciting and engaging programmes to raise awareness and promote improvements in their local communities. Social Constructs embedded in the programme, will include [but will not be limited to] the following:

  • Sexual Health
  • Mental Health
  • Physical Health
  • Loneliness
  • Sedentary Lifestyles
  • Alcohol
  • Substance Use (Drugs)
  • Sport and Leisure
  • Smoking
  • Obesity

Our casual staff will encourage young people, working in groups, to assess one of the above, and use one of the following activities, to adopt and deliver a social action programme, which will assess, minimise or better inform the risks related to their social construct, in their wider community. Participants may adopt one or more of the following as part of their social action project:
